About Us

Burton has been shaping snowboarding culture and equipment since 1977, when Jake Burton Carpenter started the company from his home in Vermont. What began with a focus on snowboards developed into a broad collection covering boards, boots, bindings, technical clothing and accessories. Today, Burton continues to build its products around the experience of riding in the mountains.

A Burton setup can start with the board and extend all the way to the smallest mountain accessory. The current collection includes snowboards, splitboards, snowboard boots, bindings, goggles, helmets, gloves, mittens and snowboarding bags. Burton also offers equipment for men, women and kids, making the range suitable for different riders and experience levels.

Clothing is designed around changing mountain conditions. Burton's outerwear lineup includes jackets, snow pants and bibs, with waterproof and breathable materials available across selected technical styles. Riders can build a layering system with base layers, fleece and midlayers before adding gloves, hats and other cold-weather essentials.

Burton's technology-focused collections add another dimension to the range. Step On® offers a compatible boot and binding system, while [ak] represents a high-performance outerwear and apparel line developed with rider feedback and extensive on-snow testing. Family Tree expands the snowboard range with boards, splitboards and powder-focused shapes.

Whether you're preparing for a resort day, park session or deeper mountain terrain, Burton provides equipment and apparel designed specifically around snowboarding. Its extensive selection lets riders choose boards, boots, bindings, outerwear and accessories according to their preferred terrain, riding style and conditions.
